Spectacular Retainer program

RETAINER POLICY

Losing or breaking a retainer is unfortunate. We offer a Spectacular Retainer program that has helped our patients turn a lost retainer into a useful experience. Here's how it works.

The first time a retainer is lost, there is no charge, but there is a consequence: the patient is required to write a factual or fictional story about how they lost their retainer, and they must bake cookies for the office. Your story will be shared with other patients and families through the "Lost Retainers" books in our reception area, so be creative!

If you don't want to write a story or bake cookies, then there is a fee for the placement retainer. The replacement costs $250. We would rather read your story and enjoy your cookies!

The story-and-cookies option is only available once. If you lose the retainer a second time, there is a charge; however, since Dr. Gellerman's team does not want to profit from our patients' misfortune, we are partnering with our patients to make a difference in our community. Patients are asked to write their checks for the replacement retainer(s) payable to one of the participating charities listed below. All donations are tax deductible.
